December 2014 - The geology lesson

Apparently, NC does have some huge boulders around. I hit one that appears to be larger than a train car and runs under my entire building pad. We had to raise the house up almost 2 feet higher than intended, and I ended up with space for a partial basement. This required a redesign of one whole side of the house. To finalize the design, I had to get a fairly accurate profile of the rock. Also, that little rock nubbin sticking up near the larger rock... hard as hell. We could not get that thing to break off. I guess it will be a focal point in the rock garden.
